Journey to I City 《我城》深度遊

Xi Xi’s debut work, I City (1975), has been in publication for over 50 years and has long established itself as one of the most iconic classics in Hong Kong literature. The term “I City” that she employs has been widely adopted in cultural circles over the years: it is neither “my city” nor “our city,” but rather a fusion of “I” and “city” into one, where the subjects stand equal and inseparable. While this phrase may not have originated with Xi Xi, she was the first to imbue “I” and “city” with a unique artistic imagery, brimming with imagination and playfully transforming local flavours with wit and humour.

With this in mind, Xi Xi Space has thoughtfully curated our latest themed event: “I City In-Depth Tour,” featuring the “Reimagining My City” art exhibition at Yrellag Gallery.
