Silvester Mok works mainly with 3D printed ceramics using a self-assembled printer. After graduating from Hong Kong Art School, he has combined two favorite media as his way of making, including 3D modeling and ceramics.

Compared to pot pinching, machine has dominated the ceramics forming process in 3D printing. Clay was forced to squeeze out from the nozzle at a precise coordinate, creating clay objects in a digital way. And Mok explores the new role of ceramist in this digital process.

The precision and accuracy of the machine make a huge contrast with clay, a material that easily deforms over weight and water content. Printed form collapses and rests on a balanced profile that can hold its weight, and the new silhouette is captured by fire permanently.

莫鎧靖畢業於香港藝術學院，主修陶瓷，過往曾以3D繪圖創作，遇見陶泥後以3D打印機作為主要創作工具，製作陶瓷物件。

3D打印與手捏陶相比，人手被機器取代，噴嘴按照圖樣把陶土擠出，形成陶器，莫於此過程中探索陶匠的新角色。

精密的機器，與陶土形成有趣的互動，泥土的乾濕度、砂粒、以至燒製都會令作品出現不同程度的變形，本來工整的形狀，因為重量等因素塌下，靜止於平衡的狀態，而高溫把這種狀態永久記錄下來，成為電腦未能預測的結果。
